It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas....

I cannot stinkin believe how long it has been since I have written a post! TOO long. Anyway, it looks like I last wrote two years ago. How sad...

Here is to catching you all up:

Adam:

*Started a new job

*Had a surgery to help the poor guy with sleep apnea

*Thriving in his new job and being a pretty fantastic daddy

Lori:

Halfway done with my Master's in Administration

*Recovering from a pretty major back surgery (I had a ruptured disc).

*LOVING setting up our new home

*Getting over the fear of a "real" fireplace and actually (gasp) loving it!

Melea:

*An amazing second grader and transitioned nicely at her new school

*Got glasses (that are so so so cute - they did NOT make them so cute when I was her age!)

*Has the sweetest spirit ever. LOVE watching her grow into such a fabulous little lady!

Addison:

*In his final year of pre-school (tear)

*Is all boy in every aspect of what that means: dirt, sports, balls, deep voice, rough, etc.

*Still lets his mommy call him "baby" and then I get super embarrassed when I speak of Addison as my baby, and then have to tell people that my baby is 4 1/2.

Hoping that catches you all up! Almost time to lick and seal my holiday cards - my FAVORITE part of the season!!!!

This has been the new book I am currently reading. Trying my hardest to parent my sweet second born to his full potential! Addison has recently been saying things like, "You dop (read: stop) it Mommy" when he is asked to stop something. He says it with such passion and conviction.. it is really all i can do to now start busting up with laughter at my sweet little one. I have found that being home with him this summer and being super consistent is changing his little attitude.

How Do YOU Spend Your Friday Nights?!

With one in bed (poor Addison missed out on our eventful evening) and one lil girl who missed her nap that day... what would YOU do? Adam started using Melea as his "weights" to do some exercises. I grabbed the camera, and who knew?! It turned into a fabulous hour of silliness and laughter...

It's Almost Christmas!!!

Okay.. so i am finally updating our blog! Yea!!! It is about time!

So, here is what the Altermatt's have been up to lately...

We decorated our tree this weekend!!!

Here we are picking out the tree...

And here is Melea and Adam at the tree farm... Melea was so excited because Grandma and Grandpa bought her her very own tiny tree for her room! And, it had "snow" on it. Melea got to pick out ornaments.. which were pink.. of course.. and then decorate all by herself. She would NOT let Addison help, and barely let Adam help her... Here she is all big and cute and happy with her tree! And then.. this is Addison's contribution to the decorating of the tree. He was cracking us up as he put his lil pile on the tree. He would walk over for a new ornament, run to "his spot" and throw it on top of the others.. it was too much. I love that spot in the tree!And lastly.. Addison standing by "his" spot on the tree. He was getting upset that we were laughing (how could we not?!) and did not like being laughed at. But, it is a priceless picture!!!! May your Christmas season be blessed!!!!

Ode to My Sister...

Oh how I love my sister! She recently watched my two sweet ones for a few days to give me a much needed "Mommy Vacation" with my very best friend, Sarah. I LOVE that I can leave Melea and Addison with my sister and do not worry about them for one second. My kids ADORE their Aunt Jenn and Uncle Joel.. and I do too! I love you sis!

So.. Today... I... Was... Talking... With... My... Almost.. Sister-In-Law!!!!!! YEA!!! Adam's brother, Jimmy and his lovely fiancee, Katie are getting married! They spent an amazing week in New York and got engaged! Now, you might wonder at MY excitement in all this? Katie was one of MY bridesmaids and is one of my very best friends... Adam and have relelentlessly tried to get them together for.. umm... like 8... yes EIGHT years! Yea to marriage. Yea to engagements. Yea for all the fun coming our way! And.. get this. In Jimmy and Katie's wedding: Lori = Maid (matron?) of Honor. Adam = Best Man. Melea = Flower Girl. Addison = Ring Bearer. Can it get any better than this?!

This summer has gone SOOO fast! I cannot believe all the things that we have been blessed to do and see, and how quickly the summer is going! As I type this, I realized that I have three weeks left of summer. Tonight we are interviewing a babysitter for Addison. Life is going quickly...

Let's see how we have spent our summer!!!

We started our summer going to Cayucos for Adam's grandfather's 90th birthday party. It was SOOO much fun to spend a week at the beach and to be with family. Here are some more shots from our time...

Here's our sweet lil one eating some sand! You would think that one taste would be enough to have Addison stop eating the sand.. but oh no.. he would seriously shovel (oh bad pun) the sand into his mouth... and oh my word. His. Poor. Diapers. Enough said.

Hooray for Mother's Day! I had a FANTASTIC Mother's Day. I adore my family and my kids and it was SO fun celebrating them! We had Addison dedicated at church that morning, and then went to lunch with Adam's mom, stepdad, Jimmy (Adam's Brother) and Jen (Adam's sis). We had a great and yummy lunch together.. here are a few pics...

So.. we got home and were just hanging out.. kinda tired and not quite ready for the week to start. We were just on the couch.. when we heard a cry for help from Addison. I ran to get him.. and low and behold.. this is what I found.

Yep.. that's my son. Stuck in the toy box. And did I get him right out? Nope!!! I fell on the floor laughing.. then frantically called Adam to see.. and got the camera! Too funny! Here is another shot....

It was too great of a camera moment... and lastly.. His face is classic. Definitely mad that I STILL had not gotten him out yet! And then.. one second later... all was well again!!! What a way to end our Mother's Day!!!

Our First Blog!!!

Hi and Welcome to our VERY FIRST blog!! Hooray!!!! Here we are, standing in front of Addsion's bounce house from his first party. It was super hot and super fun!!!

So... for some time now, I have been wanting to start a family blog but have not for too many reasons. So, with only 5 weeks left of school, here is my OFFICIAL first blog!

This picture is from Addison's first birthday party. We had a blast and Addison had an incredible time!

And.. here he is with a new fire truck from Mimi and Grandpa (Lori's Parent's). So fun.

And.. lastly.. her is Little Miss Melea and Mommy. I adore my "getting so big" baby girl!
